WorldRes Global Distribution System (GDS) Program
WorldRes offer GDS system access to all four major GDS systems, including Sabre, Worldspan, Galileo/Apollo and Amadeus, on travel websites such as Travelocity, TravelNow, Southwest Airlines and CheapTickets!, and on its own travel website.

Signup costs are $250, and transaction costs are 20% - 10% to WorldRes and 10% to the travel agent.

ReservProperty Global Distribution System (GDS) Program
ReservProperty offers a full featured listing in all main GDS systems and on a network of 5000 travel websites. Its GDS system access includes an online property maintenance account through which you can keep your hotel's details and room availability current via the web, thus doing some of your own GDS Positioning. It caters for all property types any you can include up to 40 pictures of your property. All you need is web access, a telephone number, and the willingness to update your room availability as it changes.

The service costs $295 to sign on. Transaction costs are $6 per booking, plus 7%, plus travel agent commission (normally around 10%) - all payable after the guest departs. Total time from signup to first booking averages 60 to 90 days.

Resort Bookings Global Distribution System (GDS) Program
Resort Bookings offers representation on the main GDS systems (Apollo/Galileo, Amadeus, Sabre, and WorldSpan) and major travel reservation websites such as Expedia, Travelocity and Travel Web. They also provide a voice reservation service for hotels as part of the package, and will link your property's web site to their central reservation system for taking reservations over the Internet (a bad idea since you'll then be paying commissions on bookings taken from your own site). They provide 24-7 support.

Resort Bookings' start-up fee is $400 and there is a $50 per month service charge (which includes unlimited changes). Transaction charges are $5.50 plus 7% per reservation in the US and Canada, 8% elsewhere (minimum $15.50 - $25.50 for voice reservations). Travel agent commissions (normally around 10%) for GDS bookings are extra.
